I’m passionate about helping you and your dog

dog training

I have always had a passion for animals and particularly dogs. When I was growing up we were not lucky enough to have our own family dog due to my Mothers ill health. We had many cats and rabbits instead, however, this did not stop me from interacting with dogs of all types.

My Grandparents, Aunties and Uncles all had dogs. I would spend lots of my time connecting with them and I would also walk other people’s dog in our local area after school.

Now my own children are older and the timing is right, we went and got ourselves a 5 month old rescue German Shepherd cross called Lucy.

I learned very early on a lot about earning this dogs trust and respect. Lucy was totally fear aggressive towards other dogs and people, which was from her unfortunate start in life. She needed a calm gentle hand to guide her on her way to being the amazing dog she is today.

In seeking my own dog behaviourist and having had first-hand experience of different training methods, I found some techniques were helpful but few were able to actually provide solutions to the whole problem.  I always felt there was something missing. This lead me to start my own journey - spending hours searching and studying dogs and their psychology, which has allowed me to develop an understanding of how canines think and what is important to them.

Once we learn what is important in ours dog’s eyes we can gain the ability to truly become the confident leader our dogs need us to be.

I learned about WHY a dog does what they do as well as ways to work with them to correct unwanted behaviour. My main goal was to find methods that were simple, and effective but easy to follow for a better relationship.

I wanted methods that would encourage the dog to follow my lead and show that I was a worthy leader to follow.

Lucy is now a confident and happy dog and a total joy to have around, having accomplished such a transformation with my methods. I wanted to be truly satisfied that these solutions worked. I went and got her a bother called Thor, he is also a German Shephard and obviously another total joy.

My goal with dog training is to help people live with their dogs that they love so much without stressing out over behaviour they don’t understand or cannot fix. I want to show people how we can have a calm happy home with our dogs being another member of the family.

So why do my methods work and what makes me specialised? The methods and techniques I will teach you are easy to use and gets you the results your looking for forever.

I work closely with you to show you why your dog does what they do and what you can do to correct it. Teaching your family is one of the most important elements of dog training and my combination of dog positive methods with good leadership techniques will change your dog’s behaviour and create a dog you can be proud of.
